Enter your User ID and Login Password only in the space provided for it on the login page.

If you observe any changes from normal, please make it
sure that you are accessing the correct site.

Do not provide your User ID and password on any page that
appears when you click on some link received through email. Always type the
URL in the address bar of the browser.

Do not store passwords on your computer in any format.

Change your passwords at regular interval.

Don't keep too small password and try to avoid repetition
of characters.

Don't write down your password anywhere.
-
Make the password difficult for others to guess or crack
but easy for you to remember.

Always keep auto complete option of your browser off.

Try to avoid use of untrusted systems like Internet Cafe
PC to access Internet Banking. In case you use Internet Banking on an
untrusted system, please change the passwords thereafter.

Beware of Phishing Attacks
|
Phishing (also known as carding or spoofing) derives its name from the use of sophisticated lures (such as emails designed to look like they come from a real company or institution) that are created by unsavory characters to "fish" for users' financial information, credit card details, and passwords. Phishing is a form of online identity theft that employs both social engineering and technical tactics to steal consumers' personal identity data and financial account credentials.
Phishing attacks use email messages and web sites designed
to look as if they come from a known and legitimate organization, in order to
deceive users into disclosing personal, financial, or computer account
information. |
Some Important tips to avoid Phishing Attack

Do not click on any link which has come through email from an unexpected source. It may contain malicious code or could be an attempt to 'Phish'.

Never provide your password over the phone or to any
request over email.

strictly confidential and are not known to anybody else
(including bank staff). You should therefore, never divulge such information
even if asked for.

Do not provide any information on a page which might have
come up as a pop-up window.
-
Always logon to a site by typing the proper URL in the
address bar.

Secure your PC from malware. Keep operating system and
browser application on your PC up to date with the latest versions and
patches.

Give your User Id and
password only at the authenticated login page.

Before providing User Id and
password please ensure that URL of the login page starts with the text
"https://". The 's' stands for 'secured' and indicates that the web page
uses encryption.

Please also look for the lock sign
at the right bottom of the browser and the security certificate issued by
M/s Entrust.

Provide your personal details
(Never Password) over phone only if you have initiated a call.
-
Please remember that Bank of
Maharashtra would never ask you to verify your account information through
an email. Bank will never communicate to you regarding Internet Banking via
email.

Do's and
Don'ts

Add Mahaconnect to your List of Favorite Sites: We recommend that you bookmark / add to your favorites the URL: https://www.mahaconnect.in in order to access information and transact on your account with Bank of Maharashtra.

Change your Password once in a
while: We recommend that you change your password regularly, at least every
30 days or so. To change your passwords login to https://www.mahaconnect.in.
Click on "Options --> Change Login Password / Change Transaction Password".

Proper Log Out: Log out from
Mahaconnect every time you complete your online banking session. Do not
close your browser directly without a proper log out.

Look for the padlock symbol on the
bottom bar of the browser to ensure that the site is running in secure mode
before you input any sensitive information.

Keep your Internet Banking
Passwords Confidential: We assure you that Bank of Maharashtra will never
ask you for your Internet Banking Passwords through any medium (via email or
phone etc).

Destroy unnecessary financial
documents immediately: Destroy pin or password mailers immediately after
memorizing them. Never write them down anywhere.

Disable the "Auto Complete"
function on your browser: If you are using Internet Explorer, turn off the
'Auto Complete' function on your browser to prevent your system from
remembering Passwords. To Disable the "Auto Complete" function:

Open Internet Explorer. Select Tools --> Internet Options --> Content (Tab)

Click on Settings Button under Auto
Complete section

De-Select User Names and passwords
on forms check box & Click on "OK"

Clear your browser's History: Clear
your browser's history after each session so that your account information
is removed, especially if you have used a shared computer to access Internet
Banking on https:\\www.mahaconnect.in

Do not leave your personal Information lying around at an
unprotected place. Always ensure that your cheque books, pass books, deposit
receipts are kept in a secure place.

Avoid downloading program from unknown sources: Some
sources may have hidden forms of spy ware or viruses that could compromise
the security of your computer.

Do not open attachment sent through mails, if you don't
know the sender.

Never open email attachments that have file extensions
like .exe, .pif, or .vbs. Such files are usually dangerous.

Do not keep your computer online when not in use: Either
shut down your PC or disconnect it from Internet.

Do not use shared computers: We recommend that you avoid
accessing https://www.mahaconnect.in from a public/ shared computers, eg: cyber cafe
etc.
